Estero Island Chapter NSDAR honors veterans with 146 wreaths at cemetery
Local Effort Supports WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA™
FORT MYERS, Fla. – December 19, 2017. On Saturday, December 16th, the Estero Island Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, with help from the Barefoot Beach Chapter, New Life Church, veterans and active duty members of the United States Military, placed 146 wreaths on every veteran’s grave in the Bonita Springs Cemetery for Wreaths Across America Day.
Along with 1440 other cemeteries across the country, the Estero Island Chapter participated in this Wreath Day to Remember the lives of those who served, Honor them and those who are serving, and to Teach our children that freedom was and is not free.
Thank you to Mission BBQ and Adam Palladino; Kim Dusenbury Gaide, founder and coordinator of the LeeHealth Military Support Program; John Simons, Navy veteran, of American Legion Post 303 who played taps; Bonita Springs Mayor Peter Simmons who spoke at the ceremony; and to all who sponsored wreaths.

Estero Island Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), is a local chapter of the national organization.
